    INTRO / EXTERIOR
Friends Green Porsche present for sale the nicest example of the 996 Carrera 4S we’ve ever had the pleasure of marketing. Not long ago, the car underwent a full FGP “refresh”, with over £20,000-worth of works completed in our workshop, which can be viewed in episode 44 of our YouTube series “FGP Prep Book”. The coachwork to the Porsche is outstanding, with the beautiful curvature of the wide-body free from any car park dings and with paintwork in superb condition throughout. Atlas Grey (colour code LM7X) is an incredibly rare colour on a 996, due to coming into creation in 2004; the last year of production for this generation. Under different lighting, the colour can appear blue, black or grey. As a non-sun roof model, the roof line is uncluttered and sleek looking. The headlights are crystal clear, having benefitted from refurbishment, the alloy wheels are immaculate, having also just benefitted from refurbishment, along with new bolts and centre caps, and the chrome of the tail pipe tips is pristinely clean. Sitting on KW coil overs, we’ve set the ride-height 20mm lower than standard, offering a more purposeful, sporty stance, without compromising the practicality of tackling speed bumps and curbs.

    INTERIOR / SPEC
The cabin of the Carrera 4S is a special place to be, with its seats fully retrimmed in classic 80s material as per the photographs. The quality of workmanship is second-to-none and it ties in perfectly with the existing interior. The steering wheel has also been reupholstered in suede alcantara, giving a GT3-esque feel. The remaining parts of the interior, such as carpets, headlining and door cards all present well, demonstrating how the Porsche has been very well cared for. All electrical functions operate as they should, including the air conditioning system, which had new condensers, a new compressor and a system re-gas as part of its refresh works (full detailed below). A further enhancement made to the cabin, was our installation of Porsche’s PCCM+ unit, allowing for DAB radio, a modern satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay etc. There are two remote key fobs with the car.

    MECHANICS / DRIVE
As has been stated earlier, in over £20,000-worth of works were undertaken in our workshop as we “refreshed” the Carrera 4S to “as-new” condition for its previous owner. Please see episode 41 of FGP Prep Book on our YouTube channel to watch this project being completed. The rear mounted flat six is in perfect health, boasting our favoured EPS cylindrical IMS bearing upgrade, and producing an intoxicating noise through the new Miltek SuperCup stainless steel back boxes that are fitted. The much admired six speed manual gearbox passes through its gears seamlessly, with an accurate, precise shift provided by the new 997 GT3 gear shifting mechanism installed. The three-piece clutch is new, so the pedal is light with positive engagement. Our full suspension overhaul has been completed, with every component on the vehicle replaced with new. Market leading KW V3 coil over shock absorbers are fitted, which are fully adjustable to suit every driver’s requirements. We have currently set the suspension to a softer setting to deal with the poor condition of the British roads. RSS semi-solid engine mounts are installed, which provide better stability for the weight of the engine. The brakes on the car have fantastic bite, with the front discs and pads just renewed for our “Performance Package” and every brake line on the vehicle also renewed. The coolant system has undergone significant works and is in perfect fettle with new radiators, various new pipework and a low temperature thermostat.
