9WERKS Awards: 5 things to look out for

Whether you’re attending the Design911 2022 9WERKS Awards in person or tuning in live via Instagram on 7th April at 20:30 BST, here’s 5 things we recommend you look out for…

1) Tony Hatter
We’re honoured and proud that Porsche’s legendary designer of the 993, Carrera GT and GT1 race car, Tony Hatter, will be flying to our venue at Shorade Accident Repair from his home in Germany to take part in our Awards as Guest of Honour. Mr Hatter, who worked for Porsche for more than 30 years, will answer questions on his glittering career from our audience as part of an interactive Q&A session prior to the prize-giving ceremony.
2) Rare Porsches
The 2022 9WERKS Awards with Design911 celebrates the people behind the fantastic Porsche sports cars we own and love, but it’d be rude not to use the event to gather a display of special cars, both inside and outside the building at our hosts Shorade Accident Repair, to really set the tone for excellence. Which cars will we be displaying? We’re not giving anything away just yet, but we’ll give you a clue: the theme very much centres on the career of our Guest of Honour…
    3) 9WERKS Radio podcast
If you can’t join us on the night, either in person or live via our social media pages, you can catch an extended highlights package via our 9WERKS Radio podcast, out April 11th. We’ll be chatting to our Awards winners as well as the people who helped make our inaugural awards happen, including Shorade Accident Repair, and Nezumi Studios. The episode, which wraps up season 6 of your favourite Porsche podcast, will be as special as the event itself.
    4) The Award winners
It’s easy to forget but aside from the display of special cars, our Q&A with Guest of Honour Tony Hatter, plus a chance to network with those in attendance, our primary purpose of the evening is to reward excellence across the industry. At the start of the year, we asked 9WERKS Members to cast their votes across our nine awards categories, which held equal weighting to the votes of our nine-strong independent panel of experts, ensuring this is a contest of quality over popularity. For the full list of categories, click this link.
    5) Free goodies!
That’s right, each of our lucky attendees on the night will receive a complimentary bag of goodies from our supporting partners including Design911 and The Race Works. In addition, to celebrate the inaugural 9WERKS Awards, The Race Works have also activated 11% off all orders via its website – just enter ‘9werks11’ at the checkout.

    Watch the show
Whether in person or digitally, we hope to see you for our inaugural Awards event on Thursday, 7th April. Doors for our guest list open at 7pm, and our Instagram digital broadcast will begin at 8:30pm BST thanks to our official timekeeper, Nezumi Studios. We hope you enjoy the show!
