Your highlights from the first 9WERKS Mid Engines & Mates gathering at Porsche Centre Bournemouth
Saturday 20th May 2023 saw in excess of fifty cars descend on Porsche Centre Bournemouth for 9WERKS inaugural Mid Engines & Mates event.
Under bright sunshine on the south coast, an array of mid-engined Porsches lined both the showroom and outdoor parking spaces as enthusiasts came together to celebrate Stuttgart sports cars with engines mounted between both axles.
This new and refreshing event was the first of its kind, with Porsche Centre Bournemouth – one of only a handful of Porsche Centres in the UK with Classic Partner status – letting 9WERKS and the Porsche community take over its premises to herald mid-engine Porsches from right through the generations, from 914 right up to modern-day GT4 RS.
Showroom highlights as part of the curated 9WERKS display included Matt Pickering’s stunning 914 ‘art car’, a 1-of-1 Viper green (and manual) Cayman R, a beautiful, low-mileage RS60 Spyder, plus a 914/6.
“It was great to host an event dedicated solely to mid-engined Porsches through the decades,” said 9WERKS Radio presenter Andy Brookes. “We are grateful to our partners Porsche Centre Bournemouth for giving us the space to celebrate these cars, both old and new, in such a resplendent setting.”
