INTRO / EXTERIOR
This Porsche 981 Cayman S comes in a beautiful colour combination and with a lavish list of optional equipment. The dark grey paint colour, otherwise known as Agate Grey Metallic (colour code M7S) suits the Cayman wonderfully, and accompanied by the optional 20″ Carrera Classic 2 wheels and the optional sports tail pipe tips, creates an aggressive, purposeful looking sports car. The condition of the Porsche’s coachwork is superb, straight across all its panels, and with no previous repairs carried out. We have had both the front and the rear bumper resprayed to remedy stone chips, as well as completing our customary comprehensive detailing process, exampling the fantastic condition the paintwork is in and protecting it for the foreseeable.
INTERIOR / SPEC
Inside the cockpit awaits a colour coded Agate Grey leather interior, which is in exception condition throughout. Wear points such as the driver’s side bolstering, steering wheel, and handbrake are all in brilliant order, and areas such as the dashboard, carpets and door cards are unmarked. This example is heavily specced with optional extras such as; PSE (Porsche Sports Exhaust), multi-function steering wheel, electrical retractable door mirrors with auto dimming, brushed aluminium door card and dash trim strips, brushed aluminium “Cayman S” door sill kick plates, park distance control, Bose sound package, multimedia interface, seat heating, as well as the aforementioned 20″ Carrera Classic 2 alloy wheels and the sports tail pipe tips. There is of course all of the usual Cayman S equipment such as sports seats, xenon lights, PCM satellite navigation, silver backed instrument dials etc.
MECHANICS / DRIVE
The 981 is joyous to be behind the wheel of and performs precisely as Porsche intended. The 3.4 litre naturally aspirated engine has power in abundance and will sing all the way to 7,800 rpm. This example boasts the optional PSE (Porsche Sports Exhaust) with switchable function, which means that at a touch of a button, the exhaust note goes from calm and collected, to a beautifully pronounced flat six bark. The transmission is the second generation of Porsche’s PDK gearbox, which is an impressive unit, with instantaneous, seamless gear changes through its 7 speeds. On the road, the handling is brilliant, with pin sharp steering and a beautifully poised and well balanced chassis. The brakes stop the Porsche confidentially, having had new discs and pads fitted to the front 8,000 miles ago. Pirelli P Zeros provide the car with exceptional grip and traction, with the rears renewed 8,000 miles ago and with around 4mm remaining to the fronts.
