    About the seller

    Philip Raby began his Porsche journey in magazine publishing. He was involved with the early days of 911 & Porsche World, before going on to launch and edit Total 911, the World’s only magazine dedicated solely to the iconic Porsche 911. He has written several books on Porsche and has been a regular contributor to GT Porsche magazine. Philip Raby Specialist Cars was a natural progression of his passion.

    Ollie Barclay joined the team in 2020 as Service Director. He has been a Porsche specialist technician since leaving college and has worked on a vast array of Porsches, from the earliest air cooled 911s, to the latest production model Macans and everything in-between. Ollie keeps things moving in our service centre and looks after the team, ensuring a cheerful and efficient workplace.

    This 2006 Porsche 997 Carrera manual is a real treat, as it’s covered just 38,600 miles from new, so it’s in superb condition, inside and out, and benefits from some worthwhile upgrades.

    The Porsche is finished in Midnight Blue Metallic with 19-inch Carrera S wheels with body-coloured centres (a rare factory option).

    The interior is clad in full Stone Grey leather, and has been tastefully updated with an Alcantara steering wheel, gearlever and rear centre console, complementing the factory Alcantara headlining.

    Other upgrades include H&R lowering springs and Bilstein dampers, which give the car a purposeful stance and improve the handling without being overly firm. New exhaust silencers complete the package.

    The 911 comes with a well-documented history folder, which shows that is has been well maintained over the years. Recent work of note includes new air-conditioning condensers and six new ignition coils. We shall service the car before sale, so it won’t need another for two years.

    This lovely Porsche 911 illustrates that less can be more, when it comes to Porsches. The simple specification ensures that it’s a very pure 911 to drive, which is enhanced by the subtle modifications. The low mileage and the fact that it’s had just four owners, is the icing on the cake.
