    Philip Raby began his Porsche journey in magazine publishing. He was involved with the early days of 911 & Porsche World, before going on to launch and edit Total 911, the World’s only magazine dedicated solely to the iconic Porsche 911. He has written several books on Porsche and has been a regular contributor to GT Porsche magazine. Philip Raby Specialist Cars was a natural progression of his passion.

    Ollie Barclay joined the team in 2020 as Service Director. He has been a Porsche specialist technician since leaving college and has worked on a vast array of Porsches, from the earliest air cooled 911s, to the latest production model Macans and everything in-between. Ollie keeps things moving in our service centre and looks after the team, ensuring a cheerful and efficient workplace.

    Dating from 1988, this beautiful Targa is one of the last Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2s and, as such, has the later G50 gearbox. The car is in astonishing condition, inside and out, and benefits from a relatively low mileage and a comprehensive history.
    The car is finished in gleaming Grand Prix White with colour-coded Fuchs forged alloy wheels. Inside are Marine Blue leather Sports seats with white piping, and the original Blaupunkt Toronto SQR45 radio/cassette player with the High Fidelity Package (eight speakers with power amplifier). There's an original AFN Guildford sticker in the rear window, the Porsche main dealer that sold the car in 1997.
    Worthwhile upgrades are a stainless steel exhaust system and a Steve Wong chip, which give a subtle but worthwhile performance enhancement; not to mention some nice pops and burbles! Also, the original 'bullet' fusebox has sensibly been replaced by a modern Classic Retrofit 'blade' unit.
    The 911's massive history file has documents dating back to 1992, when the car was just four years old. There's a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, plus all Mot certificates. Work of note includes a suspension overhaul with new Bilstein dampers in 2012 at 72,599 miles, in 2016 the car was repainted to a very high standard, and the driver's seat was retrimmed.
    The service book has been regularly stamped, in recent years by air-cooled 911 specialist RSR Engineering. The last service was in February 2025. The Porsche has had just five owners; two from the same family.
    Everything about this Porsche is stunning; even the engine bay is spotlessly clean and almost like new. The car has won concours competitions and comes with its original booklets in their leatherette wallet, plus a remarkably fresh toolkit and the correct tyre compressor. It really doesn't want for anything.
